THROUGH WISDOM A HOUSE IS BUILT

I recently read the sermon notes of a one Mensa Otabil (http://www.facebook.com/#!/note.php?note_id=10150125224659720), he was preaching at the launch of the oil production in Ghana and it is so moving to realise that amidst the chaos in Africa there are some sane countries where the dreams and aspiration of the pre-colonial African liberators have stayed alive. Mensa talks of how oil is not an end in itself but a means and the fact that no single country is changed by the wealth it has interms of natural physical resources but countries succeed by the quality of the minds of their people. There is no point in thinking that Ugandans should seat back and relax as the people who have misappropriated resources from other sources plan for Uganda's oil wealth. The inertia and apathy of the Intelligentsia in this country may have far reaching consequences in the long run.

The quality of a house built depicts the quality of the thought behind the house's construction. So a good house by any means cant result from a poor thought/planning process. The oil wealth in Uganda will not benefit anyone if proper planning is not done. Proper planning does not only involve the technocrats and the Multinational oil companies, it should include the intended beneficiaries who actually double as the rightful owners of this wealth that is the Ugandans.
